Steps to a Better Life

When a person first arrives at a typical program, they will meet with an academic counselor to build and Individualized Education Plan or IEP. This program will establish learning goals and educational objectives based on particular interests and needs. The individualized program developed will address not only the immediate needs, but help the person get started on a successful life after completing the recovery and rehabilitation program.

A typical program offers a rich and varied set of options including:

  • Completing a high school diploma through the home school
  • Getting the diploma through a nearby college or university
  • Studying for and Passing the General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • Start or complete an Associates Degree from a community college
  • Participate in a vocational training program

Interwoven throughout the more traditional educational components are the continuing parts of the recovery and rehabilitation, the typical program includes

  • Addiction education including individual, group and external 12-step meetings
  • Emotional and psychological education and counseling
  • Career education
  • Life skills education and training
  • Counseling from a Christian perspective
